Cadences

In music, a cadence is "a melodic or harmonic configuration that creates a sense of resolution [finality or pause]." In other words, the ending of a piece or section. Question masters were instructed to accept anything along these lines.

According to Wikipedia, cadences can be authentic, plagal, half, or deceptive; the deceptive cadence can also be described as interrupted. Authentic cadences can be perfect, imperfect or evaded. (There are several other subdivisions of these four main types.)

I have good reason to suspect that the setter of this question knows a lot more about music than I do, so I am not in any way arguing; just giving a bit more information.

Another thing I learnt from Wikipedia is that the plagal cadence is also known as the Amen cadence, because it's the way the word "Amen" is commonly sung in hymns.
